A collaboration founded in 2008 between Food & Wine Magazine 2009 Wine maker of the year, Charles Smith (K Vintners, Charles Smith Wines) and Charles Bieler (Three Thieves, Bieler Pere et Fils, Sombra mezcal).
Their wine label is an abstract play on the American Flag done by the well loved and historically known Nashville, TN poster shop, Hatch Show Print.
After researching carefully about how Charles Smith and Charles Bieler decided to collaborate on a wine together. It all started from a conversation the two had over the phone wanting to make a kick ass wine.
I decided that incoporating a breakdown of their conversation directly onto the surface of the wine would be an inviting way to design the label.
